Design That Works

Design is an important part of business in everything from communication to the products themselves.  A lot of people have heard the saying ‘form follows function’, but I would correct this by saying that form is function.  No better example of this exists than transportation, and my current favorite mac cycle.

Proxipedia

We’ve started a new internal project.  Proxipedia is a series of videos that we’re making whenever we have the time.   All the animations are built around topics in science and innovation, and we’d love to hear your ideas so feel free to share.

We have a youtube channel.

And here are the videos fresh from Vimeo:

Macrophage from Proxipedia on Vimeo.

Flying Wing from Proxipedia on Vimeo.

Trade Shows

Goodness have I been to a lot of trade shows lately.  And I have questions for those of you who use them.  Are they worth it?  Are you getting the exposure that you want?

Trade shows are a mixed bag as far as I can tell.  For some industries they’re still great, for others not so much.  Personally I’d say that Web has supplanted trade shows (and just about everything else), but we still make stuff for events, and I still think that events can be a great way to connect with people.  Let me know what you think.  Send me an email or something.
